Graceful

Graceful degradation

If a component is disabled (e.g., llms.txt turned off), its 25 points are redistributed proportionally. Your score still reflects your active efforts — no penalty for unused features.

Smart

Intelligent penalties

Conflicts, missing schema, or blocked AI crawlers trigger smart penalties. Each penalty is proportional and capped — one issue won’t tank your entire score.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about the AEO Health Dashboard.

What is the AEO Health Score?

The AEO Health Score (0-100) measures your site’s readiness for AI search engines. It combines four components — Content Discoverability, Schema Coverage, Robots.txt Health, and llms.txt Status — each worth 25 points. The score updates automatically as you improve your site.

What are the 4 scoring components?

The four components are: Content Discoverability (answer density scores, content structure), Schema Coverage (JSON-LD presence and validity), Robots.txt Health (AI crawler rules, RFC compliance), and llms.txt Status (file presence, freshness, content quality). Each is scored 0-25.

What happens if I disable a module?

Graceful degradation kicks in. If you disable, say, the llms.txt module, its 25 points are redistributed proportionally across the remaining three components. Your score still reflects your active AEO efforts — no penalty for unused features.

How do smart penalties work?

Penalties are applied for specific issues: AI crawler blocked when it shouldn’t be, schema conflicts with SEO plugins, missing schema on high-value posts, or stale llms.txt. Each penalty is proportional to severity and capped — one issue won’t tank your entire score.

Are the charts accessible?

Yes. All bar charts are built with pure CSS (no JavaScript). They include proper ARIA labels, keyboard navigation, and text alternatives for screen readers. Color contrast meets WCAG AAA standards. Color is never the sole indicator — text labels accompany every visual element.
